A FEW WORDS FROM THE VICAR

As your vicar, I share what may be obvious; that things are moving forward in the structuring and reorganization of the Archdiocese in light of the vision of our Archbishop Allen Vigneron.  In furthering his announced mission for the archdiocese:  “To share Christ in and through the Church”, the reorganization of the Central Services of the Archdiocese has been completed.  Now, new initiatives are being undertaken to assure the sharing of viewpoints and enlightened opinion so that all of us – God’s people – can answer our baptismal call to share our gifts, talents, and energies in faith!

The Vicariate Pastoral Council, made up of lay representatives of all the parishes of our vicariate, meets monthly. The Vicariate Pastoral Council (VPC) will now be initiating the steps of Phase Two of the Together In Faith Pastoral Planning efforts, building on all the priorities that came from our parishes during Phase One.

With the Vicariate Pastoral Council, and the renewed Archdiocesan Pastoral Council (APC), great things can be expected!  God works in us, and with and through us, and in faith our work becomes like that of Christ.

WHO WE ARE :
The Lakes Vicariate is a geographical area in western Oakland County consisting of a grouping of parishes and Catholic schools, institutions and agencies where support, pastoral planning and resources can be identified and shared for the benefit of the faithful within its boundaries. There are twelve (12) Roman Catholic parishes within the Lakes Vicariate, all part of the Archdiocese of Detroit.

WHAT WE DO (OUR MISSION):
The Lakes Vicariate seeks to be responsive to the ministry of its parishes, schools and church-related institutions by coordinating pastoral planning, by enhancing communications, by promoting collegiality and by identifying and utilizing all resources which can be shared.
